The first edition of this championship took place in Augustow in 1992, when the first price won the “Cannibal Island Team” while the second price went to “Santa Claus Team”. Four years ago, the winner of the competition was a huge floating mill wheel called “Wodnokrag”. Then the champion of Poland in swimming on strange vehicles became Mr. Marek Lawniczak from Odolanow, the constructor of a big wicker dragon and a Viking boat. Our present master is Mr Jerzy Radziewicz from Bialystok who constructed “Bottle with wings”. In the past, crews from all Poland as well as from abroad (Belarus and Germany) participated in the competition.
This year the organizers invite constructors of such strange floating equipment to Augustow on the Netta River, Rybacka Street on 25th July (starting at midday). So far twenty teams expressed their willingness to attend the event. Anyone who wants to take part in it should contact the representative of the organizers:

What shall one do to be able to participate in the championship?
First of all it’s necessary to build a vehicle driven by the power of wind, paddles, an engine or in another way. Crew of a vehicle must consist of at least one person and a “boat” must stay on water for some time and be able to float the distance of minimum 400 meters.
The main prize is 6.000 PLN (the value of all the prizes is 16.000 PLN).
Additionally, many other accompanying interesting events will take place in Augustow at the time (concerts, an international water-skiing jumping competition)
