Tourism

Tourism is of great importance to Podlasie Voivodeship, this being a natural consequence of the richness of the area’s nature. Clean air, beautiful forests, lakes, landscapes – this is all at the tourist’s grasp.

We invite you to get to know the people living here, their religions, customs and culture. Poles, Belarussians, Tartars, Jews, Ukrainians and Russians have been living here for centuries. This has created our region’s unique atmosphere, one you won’t find elsewhere.

Podlasie provides splendid conditions for sailors, kayakers, cyclists, and horse-back riders. Summer in Podlasie attracts tourists to the lakes of Augustów, Suwałki Land (e.g. Wigry, Czarna Hańcza, the Augustów Primeval Forest, Suwałki Landscape Park), as well as the Białowieża Primeval Forest.

The winter meanwhile, attracts all sorts of skiers: cross-country skiers go to the Knyszyn Primeval Forest and the Suwałki area, and downhill skiers to ski lifts in Bolcie near Wiżajny, Smolniki and to a T-bar lift to nearby Piękna Góra near Gołdap (Warmia and Masuria Voivodship). After a hard day out ice fishing, agri-tourist lodgings will have you feeling warm and cozy, while you savour delicious home-made dishes.

In addition, there are four national parks in the region: Białowieski, Biebrzański, Wigierski and Narwiański. Each of them embraces many marked tourist routes. The beauty of the forests and lakes is certain to leave a lasting impression.

The Voivodeship of Podlasie. The land of green and blue. Mysterious, beautiful, extraordinary and exceptionally hospitable.

The colour green is everywhere. Both green and brown – the colours of nature – are shades that can be found in abundance in every single nature reserve of Podlasie Voivodship 85.

The land’s inhabitants are warm and cheerful with open, artistic souls. Many of them are skilled in various kinds crafts, such as weaving, pottery, wood carving or artistic blacksmithing. Tourists are always very welcome.

Blue … the shade of the lakes and rivers, is seen not only in the summer and is not only for fishermen to enjoy. Among others, the blue colour attracts balloonists to fly up into the sky in their colourful balloons. Our hot-air-balloon sportsmen and their achievements are widely recognised both at home and abroad.

Once you have visited the land of blue and green, you will return here again and again.

Let’s go…
